Meet the Team: Natalie Speller, Trainee Accountant

Published 2/11/22

How have your first few months at Culverhouse & Co been?

I’m pleased I made a career change to become a trainee accountant and that I can now use my Maths knowledge and

skills every day.

The team here is really nice and always on hand to answer any queries I may have.

You’re studying for your AAT exams. How is it going?

I’m enjoying studying whilst working. It’s good to learn the theory in my studies and then have the opportunity to use it in practice in my day-to-day work. I’m hoping to take my first exam soon.

As a new entrant to the profession is there anything that has surprised you?

I knew that an accountant’s role is to support the businesses they are working with. However, I hadn’t appreciated just how closely the team here works with our clients. The clients consider Culverhouse & Co as an integral part of their team and are in regular contact with questions and for business planning support.

When you’re not at work where would we find you?

With my dog or with my friends. I particularly enjoy being able to pop to the West End to see a show and have a meal with friends.

Three things you’d take to a desert island?

My dog, a box of matches and a boat.

Tea or coffee?

Neither! I prefer a hot chocolate.
